Easy white bread
Ingredients 500g sturdy white flour, and further for dusting 2 tsp salt 7g bag fast-action yeast 3 tbsp oil 300ml water
Method
STEP 1
Mix 500g sturdy white flour, a pair of tsp salt, and a 7g bag of fast-action yeast during a giant bowl.
STEP 2
Make a well within the center, then add three tbsp oil and 300ml water, and blend well. If the dough appears a bit stiff, add another 1-2 tbsp water and blend well.
STEP 3
Tip onto a gently floured surface and knead for around ten minutes.
STEP 4
Once the dough is satin-smooth, place it during a gently oiled bowl and canopy with cling film. Leave to rise for one hour till doubled in size or place within the electric refrigerator long.
STEP 5
Line a baking receptacle with baking parchment. cost the dough (punch the air out and pull the dough in on itself) then gently mold the dough into a ball.
STEP 6
Place it on the baking parchment to prove for an extra hour till doubled in size.
STEP 7
Heat kitchen appliance to 220C/fan 200C/gas seven.
STEP 8
Dust the loaf with some further flour and cut a cross about 6cm long into the highest of the loaf with a pointy knife.
STEP 9
Bake for 25-30 minutes till golden brown and therefore the loaf sounds hollow once abroach beneath. Cool on a wire rack.
